In honor of my grandma, my first post is going to be about her...

A few years ago I found this great deal on a shared studio space in Westwood, a small neighborhood in LA. The first person I photographed in that space was my grandma. Even though she was the one who got me started in photography, I was shocked to learn that she had never been the subject herself. Nuff said. I took her to the studio and savored every face, every expression, every story, every wonder that came out in those two hours. When I showed her herself later she said something only old ass people say "This is the picture I want on my obituary."
